TB Is The #1 Killer Of People With HIV

People with HIV are 18 times more likely to develop active TB

Because people living with HIV have a weakened immune system, latent TB is more likely to develop into active TB. Active TB is deadlier for people with weakened immune systems.

HIV/AIDS contributes to 15% of all TB deaths worldwide

Fewer HIV infections means that

  • Fewer people with inactive TB will get sick with active TB, and
  • Fewer people with active TB will die of TB.

We Can Make Change!

2 Shots, 40 Dollars, Everywhere

Lenacapavir is a new injectable drug made by Gilead that is highly effective at both treating and preventing HIV.

Gilead recently struck a deal with The Global Fund to provide Lenacapavir for 3 million people by 2028. This deal is incredible, and it will save a lot of lives. But it also leaves out many lower- and middle-income countries where HIV is on the rise and tuberculosis is more prevalent.

To fill that gap, Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières/MSF) tried to buy Lenacapavir from Gilead directly, but Gilead refused.

We stand with MSF in calling for Gilead to make Lenacapavir available to all.
